How do I get my chat into the app?

On the Home screen, tap the app your chat is from (WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat or Messenger) and Chat Inspector walks you through the export step by step. In short:

  • WhatsApp: open the chat, tap the chat menu, choose Export chat, pick Without media, and share the file to Chat Inspector.
  • Instagram and Messenger: in Accounts Center, go to Your information and permissions and Export your information. Select only Messages, format JSON, and share the ZIP to Chat Inspector once it's ready.
  • Snapchat: in Settings, open My Data, select Export JSON Files and Chat History, and share the ZIP to Chat Inspector once Snapchat sends it.

Instagram, Messenger and Snapchat exports can take a while to arrive. That's on their side.

I bought tokens but they didn't show up

Make sure you're signed in with the same account you bought them on, then reopen the app. If they're still missing, email us with the order number from your App Store or Google Play receipt.

How do I play a quiz someone shared?

Tap their link to open it in the app, or enter the seven-character code on the Play tab.

Is my chat stored on your servers?

The free stats are computed on your phone. A chat is only sent when you start an AI analysis, and only that chat. See the privacy policy for details.
